Beowulf is the hero in the oldest poem written. The poem shows he’s the most heroic man of his time. He is important to his people, like my mom is important to me. Beowulf shows all the traits of being a hero possesses. He is intelligence, humility, selflessness, caring, has patience, courage, and bravery, just like my mom. Beowulf bravery killed Grendel’s with his hands. Grendel knew is power was gone when felt his shoulder snapped. (English book page 53 lines 336-340) Beowulf had to kill Grendel because of the suffering, and grief on Hrothgar’s people. Mom would fight for me she always has my back. Beowulf had to dive in the ocean to kill Grendel’s mom. She wanted to Beowulf to avenge her only son. He knows God sent him victory when he saw a heavy sword on the wall. He took his sword out and yelled out battle cry to the dragon. (English book pg.63 lines 635-650) The beast was ready to fight Beowulf and then set him on fire. It’s like my mother she believes I can do anything when I set my heart to do. Not even a dragon can stop me, if you can believe it, then it can come true. Beowulf says before he dies he wanted his armor to go to his son if he had one. He had worn the crown for fitty winters. I can live this world happy. Knowing the lord of all life has never washed my sword in blood. (English book pg. 66 lines 742-754) He died a hero, selflessness. I have to text my mom she always worries herself to death wondering if I’m ok. She will stay up till I get home to make sure I’m fine. The Geat’s built the tower as Beowulf wanted it tall and strong. His ashes are in the walls of the tower. The silver and jewels where buried in the sand, forever hidden in the sand. Twelve of the bravest Geat’s rode their horses around the tower, telling stories or of the king.
