Lieutenant Nun: Memoir of a Basque Transvestite in the New World is a memoir by Catalina de Erauso detailing her experiences during the early 1600’s in South America and Spain. She was born in 1585 into a well off Basque family and her parents were native-born residents of San Sebastian Spain. This book is one of the earliest known autobiographies by a woman and details the events that took places when Catalina escaped a Basque convent dressed as a man. During this time she served as soldier in the Spanish army, traveling to Peru and Chile, and even becoming a gambler. Being that my major falls under sociology, I will be looking at themes surrounding the constraints of females in Spanish society in the 1600’s and how this affects Catalina.

James Madison, one of America 's founding fathers, first considered the relationship between religion and government when he saw a group of Baptists in a local jail. He determined that it was necessary for all citizens to have an equal opportunity to practice their own religion, whether their beliefs align with the government or not. Madison eventually paired with Thomas Jefferson, and together their support for religious freedom changed legislation.

The whole concept of Nick Sousanis 's comic "Unflattening" pertains to how one can see different things and read the social world. While the social world of mankind is shaped based on the choices our ancestors made, do social patterns and behaviors really have to be a certain way? Perhaps, there is a flatness not yet scene that allows for this blinded vision and machine like operation which does not question repetition. A main focal point being stressed. Essentially, a main point Sousanis wants us to note is this: (1) change our perception in things, (2) changed perception creates a change in action, thus (3) a change to the world.

Movie Review My Cousin Vinny My Cousin Vinny is a 1992 American comedy film directed by Jonathan Lynn. The film deals with two teenager’s people from New York travelling to Alabama who are placed on trial for a case associated to murder that they don’t really committed. They hired their cousin Vincent Gambini a Lawyer to defend them.
Over the course of Act II the exchanges between Banquo and Fleance along with Ross and the Old man the word “night” develops its meaning into a signal for the odd happenings occurring during the nighttime. At the beginning of the act Banquo asks his son Fleance, “How goes the night, boy?” while this phrase could simply be a common introductory phrase, it also could mean Banquo is concerned for how his son’s evening really is going (2.1.1). Fleance answers the question unaware of what his father is really asking him but indicates that the night seems to be dragging on. “Night” in this instance is used as its denotation of a time during the late hours of the day, but Banquo indicates that “night” is not just a time of the day but the actions are happening during that time.

Countless times thought St. Perpetua’s story, there were instances that she was able to see signs from God that conclude to her fate being sealed.
