Betty White and Alyssa Milano have both made their marks on society. Betty White with her sweet grandmother demeanor and Alyssa Milano the childhood star come from different backgrounds and time eras, but still fight similar issues in society. Betty White was born on January 17, 1922 and started acting in the 1950s. Betty White was one of the first women producers in Hollywood. In addition to her acting, she became an animal activist and author. Alyssa Milano was born on December 19, 1972 and started acting at the age of eight. Alyssa Milano also became an animal activist, author and a breastfeeding advocate. Betty White and Alyssa Milano are scandalous because they use their fame and influence to bring to light major issues in society that need to be changed, which they also try to change.

For example, when Betty White played Elizabeth on the show Life with Elizabeth, Elizabeth was portrayed as an independent woman that was pleased with her appearance and her abilities. Elizabeth helped reveal issues that came up in life and marriage and how those issues could be handled. The characteristics that Elizabeth possessed can be found in Betty White as well. For Alyssa Milano the show Charmed was a major part of her life and she invested a lot of time making Phoebe be a beloved character. Alyssa Milano’s humor and spice were portrayed in the character Phoebe. Ironically, in the episode All Halliwells Eve Phoebe makes a protest statement against the stereotypes of witches in modern society by wearing a mistress of the dark custom and her sister Prue says, “I am so impressed that you can make a protest statement and show cleavage all at the same time.” This statement is ironic because in real life Alyssa Milano does show cleavage to protest for breastfeeding
