The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God, that tells the story of God revealing Himself and His love for the world. This story lays out the details of creation, tell the Lord’s purpose and plan for humanity, reveals the truth of sin, and gives a hope for salvation. Furthermore, these stories provide our knowledge of God and His nature. Without these Scriptures, Christianity would have no authority on which to base its’ beliefs. The themes presented throughout the scripture are God, creation, humanity, sin, and salvation. What the Bible teaches about these themes are essential and the foundations of what Christianity stands for and believes in. First and foremost, the Bible introduces and illustrates who God is; it reveals His personality …show more content…
Sin entered the world through a simple act of disobedience that led to the separation between God and man, that requires redemption. We define sin as wrongdoings or transgressions against God, but sin is more than just that. At its simplest form, sin is rebellion against God, but sin is a condition that infects the entire human race, in which the heart is corrupted and inclined toward evil. The Bible teaches in Romans 3:23 that, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” and in Romans 6:23 we learn that, “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life.” The Bible shows that none are exempt from the power of sin and that sin is the ultimate deal breaker in our relationship with God. Isaiah 59:2 tells us, “but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.” Knowing this about sin should make us hate sin because it separates us from God. We should hate it because it lessens our love and dulls our conscience. I personally can attest to the power of sin and the bind that it can have over people. The Lord knew at the beginning of time that man would fall short and be separated from Him and would need someone to bridge the gap in that separation. Eternal separation is Hell. Being a sinner means spending an eternity in hell, it is from this that we need salvation. 1 John 5:11-12, “And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. The one who has the Son has this eternal life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have this eternal life.” Jesus came to bridge the gap. Luke 19:10 “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. Jesus came to earth as a man and lived a sinless life to become the ultimate sacrifice to pay the wage of sin and to rise again after His death. The Bible clearly outlines the plan for this path to salvation in Romans 10:9, “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” In order to not spend eternity in hell, we must reconcile our relationship with God, through Jesus Christ. Having faith that Jesus Christ is the son of God, came to the earth, lived a perfect life, died on the cross, and rose from the dead to pay the price of sin is our only salvation. John 14:6 that no one goes to the Father except through Jesus. My salvation took place when I was 15 years old. The gospel was presented several
