Bienen School of Music presents various opportunities for me to cultivate my own voice and musical values. Specifically as a piano performance major, I will benefit from Bienen’s encouragements to explore a diverse repertoire and compete in numerous competitions, including concerto competitions that I find extremely appealing. At Bienen, I will also get the privilege to perform in one of nation’s finest concert halls including the Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Center-- opening this fall! The guest performers and professors who visit Bienen are even more exceptional. Worldly renowned Yefim Bronfman, whose performance of the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto in d-minor is one of my favorite pieces, held a master class at Northwestern in 2010. Being able to meet and receive instruction from musicians of that stature would surely motivate me to work toward something special. Northwestern also has one of nation’s biggest music libraries and listening labs, places where I can truly immerse myself in my passion for music. I plan to make the most out of such exclusive attributes at Northwestern
