Who doesn’t love a comedy? In today’s world it’s about impossible to refrain from laughing at comedy movies. Movie directors have perfected the art of making people laugh by putting real life situations into character’s lives, that could very well have really happened in real people’s lives. Big Momma’s House and Norbit are great examples of the life situations that are incorporated into movies. But let’s compare and contrast Norbit and Big Momma’s House to see which would be the best. When watching movies audiences look for the setting, main characters, and the message or lesson the movie gives. Always the first aspect audiences notice is the setting of the movie. The movie Norbit is set up at the beginning of the comedy in a quiet town run by the three brothers of Norbit’s wife. I think the director set this movie in a small town setting to show how loud and repulsive Norbit’s wife is. But it also shows how Norbit fits into this quiet society because in the movie Norbit is very submissive to his wife and her three brothers so he doesn’t say much to stir up trouble. But the setting in the movie changes dramatically as the movie progresses into the story because Norbit falls in love with his childhood sweetheart and Norbit finally stands up and speaks out. They both have very similar traits, for example the black neighborhood in Norbit is so similar to the one in Big Momma’s House so they basically have the same settings. But their characters are very different but they both find love in the end. The message the movies send are a bit different Norbit shows how you treat people while Big Momma’s House shows how not to judge people. So my recommendation is Big momma’s House it has a great story line its incredibly funny and it is not completely ignorant like Norbit it teaches a lesson that can be used to make a better
