The story starts off with Mr. Walton writing to his sister. He is on a ship in the northern hemisphere. Then the story moves to Victor Frankenstein's perspective. We are transported to Geneva in Switzerland. When he is old enough, he goes to the university of Ingolstadt located in Germany. He visits the alps close to Geneva. We also learn about a family in France. And then towards the end of the story, Victor travels to England. The story for the most part takes place in europe.
Most of the story is told through Victor’s perspective. The conflict of this story is person vs. person. Victor spends his college years finding a way to bring animation on dead flesh. When he succeeds, he is horrified by how it turns out. When Victor finds out his brother was killed, he moves to Geneva to comfort his family. It is then that he realizes that his creation was responsible for the murder of his brother and that he framed the crime on his friend Justine. When he confronts the monster, it forces him to create a female for him so that it wouldn’t feel so lonely. Because Victor refused to finish the monster, the monster killed his best friend, his wife, and caused victor's father so much grief, he also died. Henry was Victor's best friend. Elizabeth was his love interest. His father was kind and gentle with him, and encouraged him to study in college. William was his beloved little brother. Although they weren’t the main characters, they played an important role in the story. They were the reason Victor was willing to hear the monster out. The monster killed them because he knew they meant everything to Victor. They had a great family relationship. At the beginning of the story, victor was full of joy and he worked hard to accomplish what he could. But towards the end of the story, he was struck with so much grief, he grew ill and
