On December 24, 1987 Grace Kehler came home to her boyfriend Michael Trekell and their baby in the house dead. Two days later Fort Worth Police were called to a motel where James Bigby surrendered to killing Michael and his son. He gave a written confession and was charged with murder of the male and the drowning of the son. Bigby knew both of the victims he murdered. He was with the man and his son when the women left her house. In 1991 is when the trail started and Bigby used the insanity defense trying to state that he has mental problems with several psychiatrists testifying to prove that Bigby has a mental illness. One psychiatrist testified that Bigby has paranoid schizophrenia with paranoid delusions that prevent him from knowing right from wrong. During recess Bigby grab a gun from one of the benches and went up to the Judge and pointed the gun at the judges head. After that incident the jury rejected that Bigby has any mental illnesses. On March 14, 2017 Bigby was executed by a lethal injection called Pentobarbital. …show more content…
