If you were offered to accompany on an adventure with 13 other dwarves that could transform your life to a great extent, would you accept it? This is the question that kept brooding in Bilbo Baggins mind throughout the fantasy fiction story, by J.R.R Tolkien, The Hobbit. The Hobbit is a fantasy fiction novel about a hobbit, named Bilbo Baggins, who receives the opportunity of advancing upon a quest as a burglar, to take back all the wealth and jewels from an evil dragon, named Smaug who unlawfully stole it. Smaug came long ago, to the city of Dale, and stole all the wealth and jewels from a man named Thror who had rightfully discovered it when he was mining in Moria, an underground pit in the city of Dale. For example, if he goes on this trip, and plays the main character in retrieving all the jewels and wealth that Smaug stole from the dwarves, he will be famed for fighting against an evil force, which is Smaug. He will gain this source of fame because people know that Smaug is a “greedy, strong and wicked worm” (Tolkien, 29) and therefore, if Bilbo battles him, he will be established as a role model. It is a well-known and clear fact that individuals learn many things through modeling others, and through looking at and being inspired by what others do. After Bilbo gains this reputation of being a hero, people will look up to him, be inspired, and try to embolden themselves to do the same that he has done to gain this rank. In this case, Bilbo is a role model by fighting against evil forces. Therefore, Bilbo is teaching other Hobbits to combat malicious powers as well. This is just one of the many reasons why, if Bilbo goes on this adventure, he will teach other hobbits to fight against injustice, and that is because he will be set as a role model and people will get inspired to do what he did, which is conflicting the bad
