Cartoonist Taylor Jones’ portrayed the situation that Bill Cosby is confronting today in a comic, which he introduced on November 23, 2014. The cartoon demonstrates Cosby sitting on a small pedestal with colorful, tumbling blocks labeling the words “My Reputation”. Cosby’s long face and furrowed brows along with his grey hoodie specifies that he is confused and gloomy. The pedestal may be an indication that society greatly admired him once upon a time, yet he now sits on a small seat of disappointment. The vibrant tumbling blocks with letters stipulate he was an educator for children and a fatherly figure; however, his reputation is now crumbling to the ground around him. Cosby is known for being the first black actor to star on network television with his highest-rated sitcom being The Cosby Show (Editors). For years, Cosby has portrayed a fatherly figure during his acting career and many people believed he was true to his fictional character, Dr. Heathcliff Huxtable. Fans and critics alike have admired Dr. Huxtable for being a gentle, caring, slightly strict father towards his on-screen family (Pickert). Cliff Huxtable was a model of how all fathers should be; by no means was he flawless, he was an impeccable version of how family life ought to be. However, Bill Cosby is not Cliff Huxtable and never was. The truth is, Cliff Huxtable was a lie, and Bill Cosby must now confront the truth (Parham).
