When you look at the majority of shows on television they placate that kind of behavior.” I agree with Mr. Cosby, especially his view on profanity. In society, television makes light of its use of profanity. Profanity is classified as many things, but the main aspect society uses it in is cursing. Although profanity is used in everyday life, it sounds worse coming from the mouth of a child. Society treats profanity with no care, thus making it seem acceptable when it is not. Parents introduce profanity to a child in different manners; therefore, each parent has a diverse point of view on children and profanity. This parent holds his child accountable for the way he speaks and makes sure the child knows his family values. Most parents try to keep their child away from obscene language and anything inappropriate. The only problem is that no one can stop someone else from cursing, because people are in control of their own actions. People can curse whenever they want, in front of anyone they want. Most people who do curse do so around people they know. Little children, however, do not seem to count because people will still curse around a child without thinking.
