Bill Gates Bill Gates was born in the year 1955 in Seattle, Washington. He is married to Melinda Gates and they have 3 children. From a young age Gates enjoyed games that involved dominating your opponents like Monopoly and risk. They both involved taking over everything and being the best. This is what I believe was the key to success for Gates.
In 1967 Bill enrolled at Lakeside school and this is where he first got his hands on a computer. This is where he met Paul Allen. The started to program together and made one that looked at the traffic in the seattle area and it made $20,000 for the two. This is when they started to expand. Gates wanted it to be the stock operating system on every computer. He had that for a long time and then Steve Jobs came out with his system. Gates and Jobs hated each other because they both wanted to dominate the computer world. Gate would sue him later for stealing his idea. I read that Gates put himself down as a “fanatic” for software. He said this because when he was in this stage of his life he didn’t take vacations or even take weekends off. He took pride in being the first one to work and the last one to leave. He wasn’t interested in being married. All he cared about in his words was “All I cared about was my vision of getting a computer on every desk and in every home.” For a good chunk of his career this is all he cared about and wanted to do. Then he realized that this isn’t all that matters and he decided to get married. Once he married melinda everything changed except for his drive to dominate the competition. Microsoft was still doing this but her mad the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation. He figured he would try to help better the world. He is domination with this as well because he has given 10 Billion dollars to this foundation and it is one of the most transparent private foundations out
