If it was not for that one miracle Bill Gates had to give IBM his MS-DOS, we would not be where our technology is at today (Thesis). Bill Gates was a very smart kid. When he was younger, he used to read encyclopedias a lot and even remembered 2,000 words without any errors. Bill Gates began to study about philanthropic works and in 1994, He and his wife Melinda created the William H. Gates Foundation. This foundation was made to support education, world health, and to give money to low-income communities. They started by making a $28 billion contribution to create the foundation. Bill Gates step down from everyday operations at Microsoft in 2000. He then turned the CEO position to Steve Ballmer who had been Microsoft since 1980, and Bill positioned himself as chief software architect. Bill Gates did this so he could focus on the more passionate part of the business. Over the next few years, Foundation grew, so he left full-time from Microsoft, so he can put more time into the Foundation. Gates last full-day was June 27, 2008. Bill also received many awards for philanthropic work. Gates was named one of the most influential people in the 20th century. Bill Gates and his wife Melinda were also awarded the Order of the Aztec Eagle by the Mexican government for their works around the whole world in areas such health and education. Gates announced that he would give its employees a year’s paid leave after the birth of a child or an adoption of one.
