Bill Porter is the epitome of a great door to door salesman. Although door to door sales is no longer used very often, Mr.Porter shows how important customer relationships are when making a sale. Not only did Bill Porter amaze people by being a great salesman, Bill crossed barriers set up by his disorder. It is easy to see how well Mr.Porter did his job especially with his disability that never held him back. Mr. Porter broke through social stigmas when he followed his father into the sales business. Not only do I personally look up to Mr. Porter for his courage in breaking through stigmas but for his persistence. When Mr. Porter slipped on ice I was very worried then relieved as I saw Shelly come to help. He got up without her help because he is very independent which I found quite annoying, I understand why he liked to be independent but it 's only normal to ask for help. Another incident was when the little boy was afraid of him, during this time I felt really bad and realize all the pain he must have felt. I believe has a truly a strong person for all that he went through. Throughout the movie I was always very proud of Mr. Porter especially when he won salesman of the year. Bill Porter had to deal with many different problems which is why I can view him as a role model. Three characteristics of an effective salesperson are persistence, patience, and determination. Mr. porter possessed these and many more amazing characteristics. Mr. Porter never gave up on a sale which shows how persistent he is. Also his determination and patience really helped when it came to talking with people and building relationships. I have not had many experiences with a salesman. I have answered calls from telemarketers, but I just hang up because their persistence is very annoying at times.
