Billy Graham: The Rise of Revival Have you ever noticed that America became one of the strongest countries in the world? It all started because of God. He gave us the strength to fight for our freedom, and gave a young man the ability to become the most famous preacher across the USA. Billy Graham is the most influential pastor that ever lived. He brought revival throughout 185 countries, preached to 215 million people, and turned over 3.2 million people to Christ. He did God’s work and sacrificed his life to do it. He brought our nation the one thing we needed most: Revival. Billy Graham was born to Frank and Morrow Graham (Source 5) in Charlotte North Carolina, on November 7, 1918. Billy received a doctor theology degree in 1981, from the oldest Protestant seminary in the world. He also received the 1,900th star on the Hollywood “Walk of Fame” . One of the most important of Graham’s achievements was a Congressional medal in 1996 (Source 3). Billy Graham also won the Templeton prize, the George Washington Carver Institute Gold Award, the International Brotherhood Award, and the Fransciscan International Award. (Source 4). Other accomplishments in Graham’s life are the 30 books he has written (Source 4) and the BGEA (Billy Graham Evangelistic Association) in 1950 which he used to handle his ministry’s finances (Source 3). Graham also found “Christianity Today” in 1956. Billy Graham also preached in person to about 100 million people and reached many others on radio and television (Source 5). Billy Graham’s hope for us is that we make the decision to believe in God, and have eternal life. He had 3 steps for us to find God’s will for us. 1. Start with the Bible. 2. Pray. 3.
