Have you ever heard of the world renowned evangelist, Billy Graham? Billy Graham is a world renowned evangelist of the twentieth century. Billy Graham was born on November 7, 1918, to Calvinist parents. He graduated from the Florida Bible Institute, and in 1949, he was invited to preach at an L.A. revival. The revival lasted for five weeks, and papers from around the nation observed him closely. This was the start of Billy Graham’s great success, and fame; the revival lasted for five weeks. For more than 60 years, Billy Graham has been around the world spreading the good news to everyone. In his lifetime, he has preached to almost 215 million people in live audiences, in 185 countries. He worked in the hearts of the people he evangelised to. God is the musician, and Billy is his instrument. Through Billy, he channels the music of how he sent Jesus to save his children from death.When Billy Graham preached about God, he didn’t do it for self fame, but all for God’s glory; he always held God with the highest reverence. For example, he joined Youth for Christ, an organization ( later resigning his job as a pastor), and travelled to preach. He went to these places with Chuck Templeton. He said that he was tempted to manipulate people from the pulpit, and had doubts of his faith. Graham was disturbed by such doubt in the Word; the Bible is God’s holy word. Later on Templeton renounced his faith. Billy Graham stayed strong in his faith, even in the face of doubt. According to Sherwood, Billy showed revere for God, in his whole life in the ministry. Because of this, Billy Graham is down-to-earth, while he was talking to Sherwood, Sherwood told him that he had a Phd, and Billy said modestly, “I always admire people with a doctorate”, even though he himself had countless honorary degrees from Christian colleges and schools. Whenever people talk or interview him, they always notice that he is humble, even though he is a famous evangelist.
