Billy Graham’s career consisted of him being a pastor, evangelist, and televangelist. He was very passionate about what he did, so many people enjoyed hearing his sermons. People enjoyed his sermons so much that he was invited onto a radio show by Stuart Hamblen to spread the word about an upcoming revival in the greater Los Angeles area. (Fairchild) Due to his popularity for charismatic and heartfelt gospel sermons word of the revival started to spread. With his uprise in fame, Graham became a Christian superstar.In order to expand, Graham and his colleagues incorperated the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Through the BGEA he began broadcasting his sermons over the radio during the Christian radio show called Songs in the Night. He also hosted a program called The Hour of Decision once a week. The Hour of Decision initially transmitted by 150 radio stations by ABC. This program would grow to its peak of 1,200 stations across the United States. Graham used this media as a means for spreading the gospel of Christ and have access to millions of viewers across the globe. As BGEA began to expand, Graham saw need to create the Billy Graham Evangelistic Film Ministry as a means to distribute personal conversion and success stories to the public. The Billy Graham Evangelistic Film Ministry aired 1952. As a means to reach a wider audience the BGEA acquired several radio stations around America. BGEA also created Christianity Today, a print source of doctrine taught by Graham. With positive response to Christianity Today, BGEA started Decision magazine in 1958.
