January 31st, 1919 was the day that a true American hero was born. Known for being the first African-American baseball player to sign into the major leagues which broke the color barrier for the first time in history. He single handedly changed the society of America and baseball just by playing a game. Jackie Robinson is known in history for being the first African-American to play in the major leagues which paved the way for many other athletes entering the sport of baseball which changed the lives of every athlete to follow.

This quote proves that he changed America through baseball. He extended the fan base and other black Americans looked up to him and thought of him as a hero. There could not have been a better time for him to come around and change the way Americans thought. He made fans love him for the ballplayer he was not the color his skin was or wasn’t and desegregated the stands. “Jackie Robinson couldn’t have come along at a better time. This goes to show that just by playing baseball he was bringing both colors together because they both had the common interest of the team and
