According to dictonary.com equality means like or alike in quanity, value, ect.; of the same rank, ability, merit,etc (Equality). The mission statement of the Black Lives Movement is “a chapter- based national organization working for the validity of Black life. We are working to rebuild the Black liberation movement.” (Black Live Matter) The mission statement for All Lives Matter has to do with the fact that everyone has a right no matter what stage of life they are in, what social or economic class they belong to or what race, religion or gender they are. This is something that the United States has struggled with for years and it will continue to be one until we address both sides and hear both arguments. Having the police officers armed is one of their jobs but I do believe that there is some bad people that are police officers out there and they want to do bad things with the power that is given to them. Taking these people out of this situation I think that the Black Lives Matter movement would still be complaining about the things happening to their race due to the fact that some people can never be content with enough. I do think that the Black Lives Matter movement does have a right to be upset with that is going on in the world today with the violence that some police officers are over using their power for bad. My feelings towards the body camera fight is that I think it is a smart idea but i think that using money to do this is not the smartest thing especially with all of the downfalls that it has with it. I believe that this money can be spent in other places that could potentially help both the black community and the white community around the nation. I don’t believe that these fights and opinions will go away anytime soon but living so close to the riots that happened in Ferguson I do believe that getting correct information could save a lot of time, money and most importantly
