We can actually take it to something more recent. The Beyoncé half-time show at the Super Bowl, There is a lot of controversy dealing with the similarities of the Black Panthers and Beyoncé performance. What does it matter if she was giving a tribute to the black panthers? Most likely it was because she is black. I bring up race into this situation because years ago rock bands will have confederate flags hanging in the background while preforming. No one really cared but everyone seems to care now. Beyoncé is a very powerful figure in the black community. So, by her taking a stance for black equality it makes other black people want to stand up and fight for all the right things we deserve.

This is one of the objects were I may disagree with Socrates and lean more to Callicles. I don’t think anyone can honestly say they will kill themselves before they kill someone else that they don’t even know. No one will ever admit that they would say themselves first, and I don’t think anyone can make their final decision until they're in that situation. However, Callicles is saying there is nothing to think about. The decision is one that is easy to make; save yourself first. Socrates viewpoint is similar to Ethan Hawk in the movie "Training Day". "Training Day" is a movie about a new cop that is first out of the police academy. So, fresh out the academy he was partnered with very respected, successful cop name Alonzo played by Denzel Washington. To make a long story short Denzel Washington was a corrupted cop and he tired to corrupt Ethan just like he was. One scene of the movie Denzel and Ethan went to a criminal house and took millions of dollars from this criminal. This is were the Socrates comparison comes from. Ethan refused to kill this criminal because he was all about being a good cop and actually making the community better. Later Ethan was put in the situation either to kill this criminal or to die himself. Ethan refused to do someone else harm and risked his life to save someone else's even though the criminal got killed
