Blinding Obligations In The Frog Prince By The Brothers Grimm

481 Words2 Pages
The Brothers Grimm story, “The Frog Prince”, starts by a young princess blindingly agreeing to a frog’s three wishes so long as he helps her get her ball back. Once she retrieves her ball, she no longer feels obligated to help the frog until her father forces her too. The princess must allow the frog to eat from her plate, let him live with her, and let him sleep on her pillow for three nights. At the end of the third night the frog transforms into a prince and asks her to marry him, where she happily agrees. The main moral of the story would be not to judge someone based on their appearances. The story deals with the issue of judging someone based on their appearances, rather than their other qualities. This is strongly seen at the beginning
