In the sports world, the pinnacle achievement for many is making it to the professional level. For many, this single accomplishment comes to fruition after years of hard work, along with an incredible natural talent for the game. However, athletes such as Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders did not follow the traditional path of specialization. Deion Sanders, on the other hand, may not have possessed the stardom in both sports that Jackson had; however, he did retain longevity throughout his career in professional sports. Another glaring difference between these two outstanding athletes involves how they carried themselves in life and how they presented themselves to the world media. Due to the exposure that professional athletes receive, both Jackson’s and Sanders’s personalities were on full display. Bo exhibited a very quiet and humble personality when confronted by the media. He never brought the spotlight to shine brighter upon him through his words, preferring instead to let his athletic feats do the talking for him. Deion “Prime Time” Sanders was a different story, while he remains one of the most electric athletes of his time. He commanded the spotlight through how he portrayed himself to the media.
