Bob Ewell and Atticus Finch compare and contrast paper
Bob Ewell and Atticus Finch are very different but they do have some similarities and even in their similarities, they are complete opposites.Atticus Finch and Bob Ewell emit prodigious presence in Maycomb, but their frame of reference differs. In the novel To kill a mockingbird, Harper Lee forces of good VS. evil.
While Atticus and Bob Ewell are both single parents, their parenting styles are very different. Atticus’s parenting style has a moral education. Atticus keeps no secrets from his children so that they feel the same as everyone else and not feel excluded. Atticus’s children are taught to follow the law, making them upstanding citizens. Bob has a different type of parenting style from Atticus. Bob instills fear in his daughter with abuse and violence. Bob does not value education, we can see this because Bob does not send his daughter to school.Unlike Atticus Bob does not follow the law. Atticus and Bob Ewell don’t just have influence over their children, they also have an influence over the whole town.

While Atticus has a positive effect on the town Bob has a negative effect on the town. Atticus influences the town to take in African Americans and make their town bigger, instead of being racists. We can …show more content…

Atticus Prides himself on justice and freedom and he also sees the best in everyone and sees potential in people and he doesn’t like to brag. We can see that Atticus prides himself on this because he never tells his children about his skill in shooting. Atticus also shows he sees the good in people because he believes that Bob Ewell still has some good in him. Bob Ewell shows his pride through oppression and racism. We can see this when Bob instills fear into his daughter through fear and violence and Bob shows how proud he is about racism because of the way he talks and acts around African
