Bobby Keys Research Paper

Bobby Keys, the saxophone player for the widely known band 'The Rolling Stones', has passed away at age 70. The musician died at his residence in Franklin, Tennessee on December 2, 2014. His passing was announced by his family members by updating the status in the official Facebook fan page of the famed musician.

"Early this morning our beloved husband, father, family member, and friend passed away peacefully at home in Franklin,TN. Bobby was surrounded by his family and loved ones. He will be greatly missed as he touched so many lives and made a lasting contribution to the American music scene. Bobby's horn may be silenced here on Earth, but the music he graciously shared will eternally live on. In lieu or flowers and gifts, the family asks that contributions be made to St Jude's Children Research Hospital and The Humane Society in his honor."

He had been recognized as a renowned saxophone player, who shared the stage with some of the legends in the music industry, such as John Lennon, George Harrison, Carly Simon, Eric Clapton, Harry Nilsson, Chuck Berry, Sheryl Crow and Buddy Holly.

However, Keys cemented his name in the rock'n'roll scene when he began playing with the 'The Rolling Stones' in the 1960s. His performances with the band propelled his career to stardom. He also fostered deep relationships with the members of the band. Hence, the announcement of his death "devastated" the group.

"The Rolling Stones are devastated by the loss of their very dear friend and legendary saxophone player, Bobby Keys," the Rolling Stones shared in their Facebook page. "Bobby made a unique musical contribution to the band since the 1960s. He will be greatly missed," the band added.

In a handwritten note posted by Keith Richards via Twitter, the singer and songwriter of the Rolling Stones expressed his grief over Keys' passing.
