Bonnie and Clyde had terrorized much of the midwest and southwest during a two-year crime spree, which included robbing, killing, and kidnapping (Stingley). They pilfered banks and mom-and-pop stores (“Bonnie and Clyde.” FBI). A succession of robberies ultimately led them to the crime of murder (“Bonnie and Clyde. ProQuest”). Clyde was branded a cold-blooded killer when he did not take pleasure in killing. Clyde would only do so when provoked or in defense. He and Bonnie often took witnesses captive and took them on wild escape ride and dropping them off miles away from the crime scene unharmed. Clyde particularly liked likes capturing police officers and releasing them hundreds of miles away just to embarrass them. They were responsible for a total of 12 murders, nearly a dozen incidents of kidnapping, and countless robberies. They also became notorious for their abilities as escape artists.
