The book “The Other Wes Moore” talks about two young kids that has same name, lives in the same neighborhood, but has different destinies. The author Wes mother Joy was a single mother, as the other Wes mother Mary by different circumstances. Also, an important play roll at the book is that both mothers wants to give them education and be successful for the author and the other Wes. Both Wes are going in the same path of getting into trouble and being rebels. They are acting unreasonably by taking the wrong decisions they might.

A large majority of books use many types of literary elements and devices. An example of a literary device is imagery; the five senses. This is one of the most descriptive types of writing as it conveys what the character is feeling or smelling. It’s a more human way of writing in some ways. In the book Fahrenheit 451, the character Montag has a large amount of internal struggle throughout the book.
Some could develop an understanding that Uncle Nathan was a mischievous man while others may think that it was a flashback that brought him joy. The writer uses dual-perspective when Uncle Nathan and Winnie both talk about the skating incident in their points of views. This method enriches the overall mood in The Skating Party and also creates more mystery for the plot twist in the story to work. Dual-narrative is also able to strengthen a character’s personality trait and adds a level of complexity to the plot itself.
In Chapter 11 Holden walks down to the lobby when he all of a sudden gets stuck thinking about Jane. Holden takes a seat in a vomit colored chair and recalls memories with Jane. Throughout this chapter Holden ridicules himself, other people, and the world he lives in. The loneliness and depression Holden feels shows through in this chapter. The reader is really shown how depressing it is to live in Holden 's mind and see things the way he does.
Throughout Boy’s Life, the author uses figurative language to emphasize theme, setting and character transformation. Without the incorporation of literary devices, such as: simile, metaphor and personification, the novel would lose its intricacy. In the novel, figurative language played an important role in emphasizing the theme of change. As the novel progresses, readers witness the changes that both Tom and Cory experience.
This memoir is about Jeannette Walls, telling her life story about how she grew up. Her family, her environment, and how it all turned out for her. Literary Analysis Ellis sets up the novel during the 1980’s. It opens up with a semi-awkward encounter between Clay and Blaire, as they venture back to their hometown from a Los Angeles airport. For Clay, the discrepancies between New Hampshire and Los Angeles are anything but miniscule. In New Hampshire, Clay was in a more rural environment, surrounded by students of the middle class. In Los Angeles, Clay returns during winter break to a higher life style in the big city.
This essay will argue what is meant by the representation of the Other in the novels The Icarus Girl and Shadow Tag. The other is a representation of the questions surrounding identity that arise in these texts. The Icarus Girl focuses on the alternate identities of Jessamy Harrison and her struggle to find a fitting identity because of having a multi-national heritage. Shadow Tag takes a different approach to the question of identity, as Irene America attempts to escape her identity as a domestic abuse victim in the blue diary that she keeps hidden from her husband Gil. There is also the question about the identity of the narrative voice of the novel.
13 Reasons Why proves a better overall representation of a realistic 2017 teenage life. In The Catcher in the Rye, some of Holden’s scandalous actions are completely unrealistic. In the novel once Holden has flunked out of Pencey, he decides to literally run away from all of his problems without his parents knowing, which eventually only creates more complications in his life. In The Catcher in the Rye, he decides to go to multiple bars and get drunk. In 2017, it is practically impossible to go to a bar and drink, let alone leave campus without the whole town knowing a kid has disappeared from the premises.
She now has to learn how to be a middle eastern girl in America while also making new friends along the way. The author uses inner thinking, first-person perspective, and description for readers to understand how hard it is to show how difficult it is to get used to a new place/culture. The author uses inner thinking to help readers understand Judes's perspective and personality. Jude often does not say what she thinks and part of her character is that she cares about what others think, so she doesn't say what she thinks just in case it upsets someone.
I am still reading the book Thirteen Reasons Why written by Jay Asher, young adult fiction. This book is definitely very suspenseful and makes you want to keep reading and never stop. In this book the main character Hannah Baker and the boy who is reflecting off the tapes throughout the whole book Clay Jensen had a very odd and flirtatious relationship, which Hannah does explain in a tape or two on her thoughts about him, were they what Clay expected them to be? Thoughts on Clay.
13 Reasons Why Why should teens not be allowed to read what they want? a lot of books have important lessons that might not relate to adults as much as they do to teens. Like the book 13 Reasons Why ,the book 13 Reasons Why teaches many lessons although it is an unhappy ending, because as everyone knows sometimes life is not fair. 13 Reasons Why should not be on the banned book lists because of the important lessons about life it teaches such as friendship, thinking about what people say before they say it, and not to get caught up with the wrong crowd. The book 13 Reasons Why is about a girl named hannah who commits suicide and leaves tapes of why she committed suicide.
Whilst reading the King of Children I felt a resemblance to many western stories that we have had in the past decade. Although Western movies and stories are what I am usually used to I found that the King of Children added a new complex understanding of what it is like to become a teacher without any real proper training during the cultural revolution. The story which is the third in a series. The reader follows the life of beanpole who is scouted by the officials to teach at a school up in the mountains. When he arrives, he realizes that the kids he is teaching is not up to the level that he originally thought they were, which in turn brings beanpole to not only teach them but to reach into their souls and really make them better people and
