The book of Revelation is divinely dictated, it reveals to us the ongoing age long struggles between good and evil. The struggle started in the book of Geneses from the beginning of creation and will continue until the complete destruction of evil and the final of the triumph of Jesus Christ. John the Divine is the author of the book. The voice of God commanded him to write on a scroll what he saw and heard and send to the churches in Asia Minor. (Today’s Turkey) Revelation1:19 –11. John demonstrated his work in symbolic form. This style of writing was possible to confuse the Romans who were enemies of Christians and could not understand the symbolic writing while the Christians could. To know and understand God’s revelations of what will take place in the future. While some might find it strange and often horrifying it exhibits some of the most comforting images ever thought of by mankind. Many of these images are used repeatedly in various cultures. For example, in different parts of the world during funeral services these words are quoted. “And God shall wipe away all tears from your eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither… pain; for the former things are passed away. And behold … I make all things new.” (Revelation 21:4 -5). This is followed by “And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, write, blessed are the dead who die in the Lord form hence forth. Yea, saith the spirit that they may rest from their labors; and their work does follow them.” (Revelation 14:13). These words give strength, encouragement, and hope not to the dead, but rather to those who are alive. There have been many different interpretations of the book of Revelation, yet it is the most feared, least read and the least understood book. John was sending his requests to God. He probably was asking God to strengthen him to endure whatever trials may come his way. In this present state he could clearly hear the voice of God the father, God the son, the angels and other heavenly beings as they speak. Whatsoever his request was we know that the Bible says that he was in the spirit on the Lords day on the Isle of Patmos when he heard the Lords voice behind him like a trumpet. The voice commanded him to write on a scroll what he saw and heard and send to the churches in Asia Minor. (Revelation 1: 19 – 11). Thus the book of Revelation was penned. Revelation is a book of much drama and excitement. It is also the only book of the Bible with a promise to those who read it, to those who hear it and keep the things that are written therein (Revelation 1: 3). Although the book gives us many profound promises many people shy away from reading it. Revelation is believed by many people to be the most feared, misquoted, confusing and hard to understand book of the Bible. Yet when a person conditions him or herself to read the book, Revelation is one of the most interesting books any person can read. Reading this book uncovers a great vault of divine truth. When the truth of its content is engraved in the hearts of readers, radiant hope begins to build up in
