The book I recently read was The Great Gatsby. The author of this well known book is F. Scott Fitzegerald. The genre of this book is fiction. In this book the setting took place in West Egg, Long Island in the early 1920’s. This era was during the Jazz Age. There are many important characters in this story. The main character was Nick Carraway, a guy that moved from Midwest to West Egg to seek fortune and ended up becoming the neighbor of Gatsby. Gatsby was a well known rich man from that area that frequently hosts Jazz parties. Other important characters in the book are Mrs. and Mr. Buchanan. Mr. Buchanan is a very wealthy man that is friends with Nick and has a wife, Daisy Buchanan, which is Nick's cousin. He also has a side chick, Martyle Wilson, which he treats like trash. Jordan Baker is Mrs. Buchanan’s long-time friend and Nick’s love interest, when later on in the story the begin to date. …show more content…

The problem that derived in this book is love and emotions the characters had towards each other. Many of them fell in love with people they could never be with either because they were in a relationship, the person they liked was in a relationship, or they just didn't have as much in common as they thought. It basically contained characters that were emotionally confused on who they loved. Although the confusing love was shown all throughout the book, it actually made it more interesting. It gave me a sense of longing to see who would end up with who and who would have their heart
