In the book Night, the author describes his life being a prisoner for the Nazis. In this book, we are described with how Eli survived and what he and his father went through. We learn about how the prisoners were treated in the concentration camps. In the next two paragraphs, I will be sharing my opinion on what I think are the two most terrifying experiences the author, Eli, had to endure.
The Holocaust was a very traumatic event for everyone who experienced it and those who came after, and it gave many people experience, trauma, and disorders that they should never have had. Those of us who did not personally experience the pain will never know what those Jews went through in those camps, but Maus and Night share the experiences and horrors that millions of Jews had to live through. Maus is a survivor tale that tells the author, Artie Speigelmen’s father’s experiences in the Holocaust and his retelling through a graphic novel. “Hope is being able to see that there is a light despite all of the darkness.” In the book, Night, Elie Wiesel illustrates that if one keeps their hope they can survive the Holocaust. In the book a man named Moshe The Beadle ran around warning everybody that there is an evil coming. Nobody believed him and about 7 days later the Hungarian police threw all the Jews out of their homes.
The book Night, is very upsetting to most people, but it talks about an actual view of somebodies experience in World War Two, and how things actually were. World War Two, was the most destructive conflict in history. It lasted from 1939-1945, Adolf Hitler (the Leader of the Nazi’s) was determined to pretty much invade Poland, and they did. Two days later, France and Britain declared war on Germany. That is when the war broke out.
Hundreds lead to thousands and thousands lead to millions, more innocent people taken to camps due to being different. On religion, sex, or not being tied down to a town. Auschwitz was the worst camp of all, 1.1-1.5 million people died there. People were forced out of their homes into cramped cattle carts with up to 100 other people for days even weeks. With little water and no food unknown were there destination would be.
Night, a beautifully written book by Eli Wiesal. He tells the story of what went on in the Holocaust and the struggles he faced to live through it. Elie constantly gets abused and treated like a pest throughout the whole book. The holocaust changed him and almost made him lose his will to live, humanity, and his family. He still powered through until he got liberated by America.

In unsentimental detail, “Night” recounts daily life in the camps — the never-ending hunger, the sadistic doctors who pulled gold teeth, the Kapos who beat fellow Jews” (Donadio). At the end of Great Depression, Hitler was slowly gaining power and he convinced lots of people that Jews were harmful and taking all the food. The Nazis went and rounded up jews and sent them to concentration camps where they would make them work. If they could not work, they would be killed.
In the years of the holocaust millions of people died. Including those of war prisoners and Jewish citizens. Several concentration camps were to blame because of this. Even though most did not live to the liberation there were a few lucky ones who survived and lived to tell about their experiences. Elie Wiesel spent his childhood in Auschwitz concentration camp, surrounded by death and misery, but managed to keep his head up and persevere through it.

The horrific events that occurred in Elie Wiesel’s book, Night, are disgusting because they are events that could have happened to any Jewish person who lived in Europe during the time of the Holocaust. This book urges its readers to consider many aspects of human experiences, especially ones such as morality, and fate. In this book, Eliezer, the main character who is a Jewish teenager from Hungary, goes through the horrific experiences of Auschwitz, one of Hitler’s concentration camps. Eliezer experiences the death of others around him, he survived crematories, and the shootings of the Gestapo soldiers. This book urges readers to consider morality because it makes people think of how immoral humanity can become with the genocide of an entire race of people.
Night is a memoir that is told from a Holocaust survivor, Elie’s point of view. Elie describes the Holocaust as a life changing tragedy and his survival, a miracle. To follow it up, the narrator also mentions his survival is to tell others how the violation of Human Rights had impacted the lives of the Jewish people. The Germans had violated nearly all human rights the Jewish prisoners had, to the point where the prisoners lost faith in their religion and their belief in God.

Night is the best title for this book, Darkness is all the Jews could see in the gas chambers. Night is the best title for this book because of the darkness,loneliness, and scariness the word night is associated with. The first example is when the Jews are being separated into 2 groups like cattle in chapter 3. Second example is when Eli and his father see the burning of little infants.
