The Pact The book that I read over the summer is called The Pact and the author is Sampson Davis, George Jenkins, and Rameck Hunt. The book is very good in my opinion and this book is mostly about a group of boys and the how their lives changed throughout the story. The boys names are Rameck, George, and Sam they are very good friends throughout the book. They all had problems either with their families like no dads or smoking problems and they had problems with their friends like hurting people or drinking/smoking.
During slavery, African Americans were treated as possessions in the same way that livestock were regarded as possessions. The hog symbolizes the awful, dehumanizing thinking behind slavery. In Jefferson’s trial, his defense attorney refers to him as a hog, “Gentlemen of jury...put a hog in the electric chair” (Gaines 15-16). A hog symbolizes how the whites in the community treated the blacks and how they think about them socially. A hog is a filthy animal, which in the time period of the 1940’s is how most whites viewed blacks, and believed that blacks were good for nothing but to work for the whites.
The theme of the book “A day no pigs would die” is the changes of a boy growing to a man and coming-of-age. The main character, Robert Peck, is at a stage in his life that he must mature. Today, Alexander T. Wolf and the Three Pigs will be guests in our room. They have traveled afar (even came back from the dead), just so they can tell you more of their side of the story. Before their arrival, you need to make ready questions that you could ask them that would quench your thirst of knowledge about their experiences. Your job is to generate five questions, varying them where you get additional information where you don’t already know the answer. You are encouraged to ask questions of any or all of the guests.
The Lord Of The Flies by William Golding is a book about a plane full of boys crashing on an island. The boys are by themselves no adults so they have to survive on their own and establish their own government. Piggy is one of the first characters we meet as a boy with poor eyesight, a weight problem and asthma so the readers already like him even if no one else likes him. Piggy is the closest thing the boys have to an adult on the island. Throughout the story Piggy embraces the character traits of being intellectually intelligent, Mature and loyal.

This book is about a young man named Miles Halter, who becomes friends with Chip, Alaska, and Takumi. The three of them take Halter under their wing to introduce him to how the campus works by drinking, mischief-making, and smoking cigarettes. Halters favorite class is Religious studies (that is what Green went to study in college). There was one night when Miles, Takumi, Chip, and Laura pull a prank on the principle and the kids that only stay at the boarding school on the weekdays, the plan worked perfectly. Chip and Alaska were drinking to celebrate how well they all did and Miles got to make out with Alaska (he liked her).
The story begins by introducing a boy with fair hair leaving the jungle to scout the surroundings. Following the fair-haired boy is a very fat and spectacles-wearing kid. They discuss their plane crash and the conjecture that they are on an island. Shortly after, they come to the realization that there are no adults on the island. The spectacles-wearing kid asks the fair-haired boy for his name and learns that the fair-haired boy is Ralph.
During the pinnacle of a raging atomic war, a plane evacuating schoolboys from Britain crashes over an uninhabited island killing the pilot (the only adult present) in the process and scatters the young boys due to the impact of the fall. Two of them are near the water. The fair-haired boy, who later introduces himself as Ralph, lowers himself on rocks towards the lagoon surrounded by a heat wave. All around him is a long scar etched into the land upon his and the others' entrance into the beach. The other boy who is chubby with thick glasses accidentally introduces himself as "Piggy" which unfortunately for him, sticks.
My book is Heaven is Paved with Oreos, By Catherine Gilbert Murdock. Summary: Sara Zorn is an average 14-year-old girl. She’s smart, funny, awkward, shy. Sara has a crush on her best guy-friend, Curtis Schwenk, but doesn’t realize it, saying she isn’t a “boy-liker”.
Responsibility Over Living Sigmund Freud once said, “Most people do not really want freedom because freedom involves responsibility and most people are frightened of responsibility.” This quote in my opinion means that even though most people say they want freedom to do whatever they want, they really don’t because they’re too scared to accept responsibility for their actions. The character John hurt a lot of people in this novel because he is too afraid to be responsible. He would rather have a party than take care of a sick man’s house. He is not a good role model.

One day Mr. Piggles started carrying around a briefcase around everywhere he went. He had it no matter where he went. Nobody the town knew what was in the briefcase. Mrs. Piggles his wife didn’t even know what was in there, and he never told her. At the beach he had the briefcase in his hand.
One of the most common warnings told is, do not trust people on the Internet. One could say that buying Theodore off the internet was a terrible idea. Theodore the pig is the ugliest creature alive. Quite possibly so ugly that one would be frightened for their safety when entering upon him. It did not start out this way, during infantry Theodore was commonly referred to as “Theodorable.”
