Holes is a book about Stanley Yelnats and how he survives his physical environment, Life situation, and the people at camp.The main character is stanley yelnats he got accused of stealing a pair of shoes that were for the homeless. There are several reasons why stanley is existing in a wasteland. To begin, Stanley’s physical environment isn’t a positive place to be in. For one thing there is a big lack of nature. It is also very hot at Camp Green Lake. There use to be a lake but there isn’t one now because of the temperature. One page one of this book “They said that there is no lake at camp Green Lake. There once was a very large lake here,the largest lake in texas.” Then there are are also these yellow spotted lizards and those aren’t the safest thing around that as the book said on pg.4”...But you don’t want to get bitten by a yellow spotted lizard. That is the worst thing that can happen to you. You will die a slow and painful death.” …show more content…

One there is Mr.Sir who just quit smoking. Mr.Sir has just quit smoking as said in pg.12 then on pg.16 Mr.Pendanski said Mr.Sir has just been in a bad mood since he quit smoking. Then there is zero who doesn’t talk to really anyone except stanley. Zero is kind of Suspicious because he has only talked twice and both of those times he said some really weird thing like on pg.46 “Did the shoes have red x’s on the back.” There are also people who get bitten by a rattlesnake on purpose.
