This is novel is about Yoora surviving in a country that is ruled by a dictator. A country that only functions in the dictatorship of Kim Il Sung.A country where you are brainwashed with such ridiculous lies and fantasies. Yoora live in a poor town she has always dreamed about a better Korea. A Korea where there are lights, food, no labour and more importantly a free Korea. However, this dream had mistaken as a traitor to her country and she was sent to Haengyong concentration camp. This book has every detail of what she went through on her receiving the government wrath. This made me think that if I were in there situation would I eat those insects as well? Would I go that far to ease my crawling stomach? It pains me to read about these type of stories where someone is suffering from something they have never committed and beyond their control. Where innocent and clueless people suffer for no purpose. It made me cry to read about all the suffering Yoora have been through she is only a child she does not deserve it. I seriously hope that the conditions in the real prison camp in North Korea are better than what I’ve read. I hope that the prisoners there are treated well, have warm clothings, have food given to them, and more importantly treated as a human being. But I’ll never know if these stories really explain the living situation of the North Korean residence or the living situation of those prisoners because as we all know North Korea is one of the most secretive countries in the
