In the book The Burning of Uncle Tom 's Cabin, George Harris is a slave and so is his wife and son Harry. Eliza and Harry live at the Shelby Plantation while George is at the Harris plantation. George isn’t like any other slave. He often gets to see his wife and son. He has visitations to see them because George is really responsible. So George, Eliza and Harry are at the pond having lunch and it’s getting late, so George says he better go back to the plantation because Harris is going to worried about him. They say farewell and hug. He gets back to the plantation and Harris tells him that he is moving to work in the fields and there isn’t anything George can do about it. They let George tag along. They go to Van Trompe for help and Jim tells him to calm down and finally Van remembers who he was. George tells him his name and Van asked if he knows Eliza and he says yes. She stayed there the previous night and this is finally going the direction George wants it to.. The Quaker Phineas went along with the group just in case the slave catchers tried anything. And they did. Eliza and Harry and Ma were in the back on the carriage. The catchers were far enough so they all got out the of carriage and found shelter behind a tumble of boulders. Loker tried shooting at them and George shot him now the ear of the slave catchers went to get help and left Loker to die well George was going to kill him but his wife insisted to not do it. They traveled to the next farm house where they would get shelter and
