Hatred comes from many things and can grow into many forms as well; for example, when people get in an argument and they do not resolve it then their anger can continue growing and eventually grow into hatred. Hatred as a noun means to intensely dislike someone or something. When you have hatred for someone, it is hard to see from their point of view and everything they do will be tainted by hate. One of the ways that you stop people from hating each other or something, is to try and solve anything that they have against each other or the thing that they hate. You stop hatred by making sure that you find out how to stop the other person or yourself from being upset with each other. This is different from some people's point of view because they believe that they aren’t culpable and so they don’t feel the need to apologize and see from the other person's point of view. This point of view is wrong because then no one will ever try and find out what the other person thought and felt when they started hating each other. A quote from The Book Thief shows how Hitler was able to convince so many Germans that the Jews were impeachments of their country: “In 1933, 90 percent of Germans showed unflinching support for Adolf Hitler. That leaves 10 percent who didn't. Hans Hubermann belonged to that ten percent,”( Zusak pg 67). The Germans showed hatred for the Jews and blind submission for Adolf Hitler; this quote shows what percentage of German citizens look down and believe that they are better than the Jews. Words that also mean hate are, detest, abhor, abominate, loathe, these all mean the same the same things; the Jews felt the backlash of all of these words. “Many rescuers acted out of a sense of altruism, that is, an unselfish desire to help those who were being persecuted”(Wiesel). This shows how the Jews were hurt because they were hated, but there were still people who did not loathe them but rather helped them. “Blood leaked from her nose and licked at her lips. Her eyes had blackened. Cuts had opened up and a series of wounds were rising to the surface of her skin. All from the words. From Liesel’s words,”(Zusak 250). This quote from The Book Thief shows how everyone can show hate, also, how it affects the people it is directed at. Liesel hated the mayor’s wife because she felt like Ilsa Hermann did not care what would happen to her family and that they looked down on them.
