The film Girl, Interrupted tells the story of a girl, Susanna played by Winona Rider. Susana admitted herself to a mental institution after going to the ER for swallowing a bottle of aspirin mixed with vodka. She denied doing that in hopes of dying. She said she had a headache and was trying to make it better. Susanna has reoccurring flashbacks of events that have happened to her. While in the hospital, her therapist diagnosed her with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). While in the institute, she becomes friends with many girls there. Georgina is a pathological liar, Lisa has an antisocial personality disorder and a sociopath, Polly is a fire victim diagnosed with schizophrenia, and Daisy has OCD, self-harm, and is addicted to laxatives.
