While television can be educational, ads are one of the best ways to get your point across in such a short time. The Boston Bruins Ad does a very good job of including the “big three”, Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. The Boston Bruins are a popular United States hockey team out of Massachusetts. In the ad, you will see they show lots of emotion and passion that goes into this sport. Throughout this paper, we will be diving deeper to find out how these “big three” are being represented. Throughout the ad, they show different highlights of players scoring or fighting. What they are trying to do is show the viewer how good of a team they are and how exciting it will be to watch them. This is a form of pathos, they are trying to convince the audience that they are the best team and you should either become a fan or watch the game. In the ad, they even go as far as showing old clips from the 1990s - 2010s to convince the audience that this is the team they want to watch and that it's been like that for a while. The way pathos was used here was very effective and should open up many new opportunities for them to grow.
