The security of an individual in the United States has been at risk for many ongoing years. Article 3 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) states that “everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.” The security of a person, however, seems to be drifting from its importance, especially in various situations due to terrorist attacks, which directly violate the UDHR. Terrorism has always been an issue in the United States due to the deficiency of security. The 9/11 attacks, Paris attacks, and Boston Marathon bombings are severe terrorist attacks that have been caused because of the lack of security in the U.S.. The bombings took place on April 15, 2015. The people in Boston, Massachusetts were having their annual Boston Marathon until two bombs were set off by two brothers who planned the attack themselves. The article “Boston Marathon Bombing” informs that “two homemade bombs exploded near the finish line of the historic Boston Marathon foot race. The explosions killed 3 people and injured more than 200.” Numerous individuals were harmed during the event because of the lack of security. John D. Marvel explains that “failure to prevent or to respond swiftly and competently to a terrorist attack or other public tragedy might be traced to the actions or inactions of multiple actors.” Marvel states that the cause of the terrorist attacks are from the government not being able to catch the terrorists before the attacks occur and that is why Article 3 was violated. Marvel also explains that “the Boston bombers succeeded because our system failed”. He states that the terrorism was successful because our government failed to protect the people. There have been several attacks in the United States that have violated Article 3 in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the violations will continue to occur until the security of the United States is
