The tea that the colonists poured in the harbor was shipped in by the Dutch East India Company, one of the only companies who could sell to the colonies. The Patriots did this because they wanted their own government, to be free from Britain.
What was the main reason for the Boston Tea Party, let me explain. The Boston Tea Party was a huge protest against England because England kept taxing the colonists without asking them. England made taxes such as the Navigation acts,Stamp act,Townshend acts, and more over the next 122 years, but the most infuriating act that caused the most important backlash from the colonists was the tea act. The colonists drank a lot of tea, they drank it everyday and when England placed a tax on it the colonists knew they had to do something. What was the cause of the

The Intolerable Acts, passed by Parliament in 1744, was a series of laws to punish the Massachusetts colony for the Boston Tea Party. They were so harsh that the colonists called them the Intolerable Acts. This all started after the Boston Tea Party, when colonists decided to dump 342 chests of tea into the Boston Harbor as a way of protesting against the taxes. The first punishment would close the Boston Harbor until colonists would pay for the destroyed tea. The second put an end to the constitution of Massachusetts.

To show England that they would not give up, on December 16, 1773, a group of colonists snuck onto a ship filled with tea and dumped around 350 chests of tea into the Boston Harbor. The colonists wanted their independence from Great Britain so they
After the boycotts and protests the tea had all rotted and could not be used, I know what they did was wrong and thought they could have handled it differently, but they did prove our point. Parliament was not happy and thought that Boston should repay for the lost tea, and put forth four punishments, we like to call them the Intolerable Acts. Since Massachusetts seemed to be the only one being punished a lot of the other colonies realized how corrupt parliament really was. We couldn’t even have town meetings without the approval of the governor and we were under the control of parliament. This alone pushed many of us away from the crown and towards becoming American Patriots.
The Boston Tea Party was a violent, courageous, and an eventful act that took place in 1997 because of constant disputes. It started to become a large issue when the British and English colonist constantly disagreed about the unfair taxes that were charged from the British. The colonists didn’t agree to the taxes at all the the government officials formed a plan. The British put such a hefty tax on the tea because they realized the demand was so outrageously high, and they could make a much larger profit off of it. Colonists did not want to pay the huge taxes, so they started buying/smuggling tea from East India, but the British wanted to have the colonists to buy tea from them because of the taxes.
The Tea Act allowed a company to send its demand of tea to America without paying any taxes. Colonists did this demonstration because they were angry at the British Government for taxing them without representation. The American Revolution was unavoidable. America was under the power of tyranny, which is why the colonists broke away for the British monarchy.
