Even while it has a significant impact on millions of lives, it is still not given enough credit in the larger conversation about youth development and education. From a closer look at its offerings and the successful outcomes for its participants, this organization is more than just an additional educational facility—rather, it is a vital lifeline for the communities it serves. All our members should be on pace to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, exhibiting strong character and citizenship, and leading healthy lives. Every child has what it takes, in their opinion. Boys & Girls Clubs' basic values and mission inspire their dedication to creating inclusive, safe, and healthy environments for everyone. All children and teenagers, regardless of color, ethnicity, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, ability, socioeconomic background, or religion, are supported by Boys & Girls Clubs of America in realizing their full potential (“Our Mission & Story”). Four women from Hartford, Connecticut, named Mary Goodwin, Alice Goodwin, Elizabeth Hammersley, and Louisa Bushnell founded the Boys & Girls Clubs of America in 1860. They started the first club because they thought there should be a better option for boys who wandered the streets. The Club emphasized character development as the main component of the program, focusing on engaging boys' interests, enhancing their behavior, and raising their own expectations and objectives.
