1. Alfred James Brady was born in Indiana on October 25th. He ended up losing his father at age two and his mother at age sixteen. He lost his stepfather at age 18. Two months after that he started committing his crimes. His First crime was a robbery in indiana where he was shot and wounded. He was eventually jailed. 2. Upon release he formed the Brady gang with Clarence Lee Shaffer Jr. and James Dalhover. The gang stole cars and committed armed robberies across Indiana. They became FBI’s “public enemy” in the 1930s. They were eventually caught in 1936. Brady, Dalhover, and Shaffer escaped Indiana Jail and robbed a bank in May 1937. They came to Maine after been to Baltimore and Bridgeport fleeing from cops with $5,000 from robberies. 3.Once in Maine they thought they wouldn't have a chance of getting caught. They went to a Dakin Sporting Good store and where negotiating the purchase of a Thompson submachine guns. The owner go suspicious and called the cops.
