Brave New World

Books provide us with many things, knowledge, power ,tranquility. Every book is different , some books can be more explicit than others ,which is why many people request the banning of certain books .But does the banning of books from classrooms really accomplish anything? Students will continue to learn about these controversial topics elsewhere. The Banning of books just goes to prove that certain people want the censuring of learning. While on the topic of controversy ,One book that has had a large controversy behind it is Brave New World due to its heavy topics of drugs ,promiscuity , religion and racism .

The issue that people have this is that Henry Ford has replaced everyone's god ,whether it be the catholics or the christians or any other religion. People do not want their children being taught about other people worshipping anyone else other than who they've taught them . In fact teachers have been fired from teaching this type of book in their curriculum.

Along with these reasons ,another reason that Brave New World has so much controversy behind it ,is for its culturally offensive language towards native americans . Huxley's use of the word “savages” to describe the native americans that lived on the reserve offended many people. Many comments were made about the book and its racist portrayal of native Americans. Though you would think that this would be the reason that had the most complaints it

Everything down to the citizens clothes ,they have no freedom but the people don’t realize this ,they don’t know what real freedom is . They are completely oppressed and the people don’t know it ,like many countries today. The lesson that Brave New World Provides us with is that despite the government providing all the basic necessities for surviving they aren’t living . The people “live” to serve government and maintain the stabilization of the caste system. We learn how the dehumanization of a society and it could easily happen to us . It makes us want to move away from that future ,we want to prevent it
