I was asked to compose a written report for my illustrated family emblem for this assignment. Symbolism is prominently expressed in the emblem, seeing as linguistic representation was restricted. Therefore, interpretation to absorb the information is required; in other words, the purpose of this paper. Following are detailed descriptions of the meaning behind the symbolism, for each idea is the recipient of thankfulness from each person portrayed. Brianna, my younger sister, is in sixth grade and still has a long way to go towards reaching maturity. However, the things she is grateful for greatly deny that claim. The symbolism of being thankful for his good health takes the place of my dad as the emblem of the Red Cross. Chris representation as the biggest in the group is to symbolize his strength and support of our family. Evidently, the four of us putting up the flag not only represents his gratefulness for our family, but his joy for the freedoms of Americans. This is how my father is represented in the family emblem. As a Freeburne, I guess it runs in the family to be grateful. I feel very blessed to have an exemplary family, consequently the four of us helping each other place the flag. Openly delivering my love for playing music, I’m represented via the music notes. In retrospect, I illustrated two music notes; one for my mother and one for myself. In recent years, we’ve grown closer through our love of music.
