Because he feels so comfortable there, he has no problem going up to the young stranger who is sketching. The kid looked out of place in the bar with older people, propelling the older man to go talk to him. Noticing how well the kid made a drunk old woman look like a “doll,” the man asks him to draw a picture of what is “down there.”
When Craig was little he was caught by a bus driver drawing a naked woman. Craig's parents found out about this incident, and his parents told him that lust was bad. Bridge to Terabithia is about two fifth-graders, Jess Aarons and Leslie Burke. Jess has been practicing all summer for the school recess races.
