It was he who asked his teacher about what the ‘’Dead Poetry Society ‘’ was. He also loves to come up with unique ideas, for example, it was he who organized the first meeting in the Dead Poets Society club. Unfortunately, Neil's father control him and have strict rules that Niel have to follow. Neil's Father wouldn’t let him do what he’s into. As said, he was inspired and motivated by Mr.Keating lessons that were about to seize the day. That's why he decided to focus and follow his dream of acting. After the show his father takes him home and yells at him and tell him that Nile couldn't handle it and ends up committing suicide, by using his father's gun. Nile's sad situation and lifestyle is an example of many children who are forced to do things to please their parents. There are unbelievably many different types of parents in the world. There are those who remind about Nils parents, those who control their children's lives, no matter what. In fact, parents treat their children depending on how they were treated by their parents themselves. I think Neil's dad was forced to obey his father's rules and therefore it was probobly clear to him that his son should also do it without going against him. Todd is a very shy and quiet boy, and his worst fear is that his life has no meaning. One school day the students were being told to write a poem and as usually he completed the assignment and spend many hours writing it, he was good at writing poems but didn't believe in himself. However, when Mr.Keating asked him about the assignment he lied and told him that he never did it. In fact, Mr.Keating could directly see the fear that Todd had and he knew that he was not telling the truth. The professor believed in Todd and that's why he made him say whatever comes to his mind in front of all students.
