In November 9 by Colleen Hoover, Fallon, a flawed woman, struggles to love herself and Ben. In the beginning, Fallon is arguing with her father over her choice of occupation. After she was incinerated in a fire when she was 16, the option of acting went out the window. Fallon starts recording audiobooks; her father thinks it is a waste of potential. All of a sudden, a random guy slides into the booth next to her and starts sticking up for her. He introduces himself and says his name is Ben. He also says he is her boyfriend, and then turns to her and tells her to go with it, so she does. Fallon talks about this guy she was going on dates with, and when she starts talking about how he was disgusted when he saw her burns, Ben gets mad. He starts telling her how beautiful she is, and how she should embrace her scars because she survived. Fallon finally meets Ben’s brothers; Kyle and Ian. They agree to meet up in New York City next year. The year after that, Fallon is waiting for Ben when she gets a call. Ben is on the other side of the line, and he isn’t talking. Fallon asks what’s wrong, and Ben tells her Kyle died three days earlier. Fallon immediately flies to Los Angeles and spends the day with Ben to make him feel better. Ben says he wants to move in with her, and she leaves because his family needs him. On the fourth year, Ben shows up with a baby and tells Fallon he is with Jordyn, Kyle’s widow, so Fallon leaves. The year after that, she doesn’t want to see Ben, so she goes out with her friend, her friend’s boyfriend, and her situationship. While at the club, Fallon and her situationship are approached by Ben. This causes an altercation. Fallon leaves with Ben. They spent the night together at Ben’s house, and Fallon was looking for a shirt when she saw the manuscript.
