Trials of relationships Family ties come in a wide variety of forms. Everyone's life is largely centered around their family. Interactions with other people are built on strong family ties. Children flourish in loving and complete families. Trevor Noah didn’t quite have that luxury.
In Born a crime Trevor Noah addressed the fact that relationships with the people around you define who you become as a person. That's illustrated by Trevors situation with Fufi, when Abel shot his mother, and the situation at the mulberry tree with Abel. Trevor's situation with Fufi changed his perception on relationships for the rest of his life. Young Trevor was following Fufi around town and was heartbroken when he found out Fufi was visiting another family. Trevor stated “I believed Fufi was my dog, but of course that wasn’t true. Fufi was a dog. I was a boy. We got along well. She happened to live in my house. That experience shaped what I’ve felt about relationships for the rest of my life. you do not own the thing that you love.”(Noah,100). This situation and quote proves my claim by showing how much Trevor loved Fufi. Also by showing how hurt he was when he found out she had another

Abel shot her in the butt when she jumped in front of the kids. When they were driving off Abel shother in her head. Trevor was willing to spend his last to try and save her. Trevor valued his mothers life and showed that by saying “I saw, more than anything, that relationships are not sustained by violence but by love. Love is a creative act. When you love someone you create a new world for them. My mother did that for me, and with the progress I made and the things I learned, I came back and created a new world and a new understanding for her.”(Noah,262). This situation and quote proves my claim by showing how all the love that Trevor encountered from his mom, shaped him into a loving and caring
