The Forest It was on a typical bright blue day when Charlene Lewis stayed indoors reading one of her new books. She loved to read stories about people went into the woods that were dark and mysterious. Although right outside her door lurked one of the dark forest that she always enjoyed reading about she never liked the idea of going out to investigate them herself. She liked reading about them in stories because it was not her that to go through the forest and experience all the jump scares. On the other hand Elaine, her sister, loved the outdoors. She would spend all day lying under the sun feeling the heat brush her tanned skin.
“Let’s go! We are going to be late for school,” cried Elaine from down stairs.

She jolted. “Dad,” she cried. She started to cry of hope that her dad was looking for her and had finally found her. Then she saw two glowing yellow eyes staring right at her. She froze with fright. Then she remembered that the main character in her book was chased by a wolf. It was raining and there was nowhere for him to go. He then climbed up a tree with a lot of moss on it. The wolf could not climb up it because the moss made it too slippery. She looked around looking for a tree just like the one described in her book. It was so dark that she almost missed it. She slowly backed away from the glowing eyes toward the tree. She then hastily tried to climb it, but she kept slipping off. The eyes were coming closer as well as the dark body that was following it. Tears stung her eyes. She kept trying to climb the tree but would always end up lying back on the ground.
