The documentary, “Immigration Battle”, is a very interesting topic to talk about. The film depicts the separation of families. The children who are citizens can reside in the country but the parents who are not citizens are asked to deport back to their country. Living in a different country with a different race is a very difficult task. To live is a fear, then why does the country allow immigrants to reside when there is a separation of a family taking place? The question that arises from the documentary is, “Why has it been so hard for Washington to fix the country’s broken immigration system”? We relate the documentary, “Immigration Battle” to chapter eight that talks about race, ethnicity, and discrimination. The actual reason for separating the citizen children and non-citizen parents is still not known. There may be many reasons behind it. The decision to deport arises when society categorizes people based on their race and ethnicity, it creates a system of stratification leading to inequality. The fact so many people are asked, “What are you?” in reference to race is evident that the race must be established interactionally. The deportation process began when Obama was in position. Where is the brotherhood seen when families are being deported back to their countries because of reasons the representatives in the white house make. Is it wrong to live in a country because we are of a different race? Well, what would the future of United States be by having the majority of the multiracial population? As per the census, by 2042 the country’s demographic would be outnumbered by nonwhites. But, it is believed that whites would remain dominant.
