Solving the maze was meant to be the end.Thomas knew that after completing the maze, him and the Gladers were going to get their lives back.But, the maze was only the beginning. The suns flares burning and blazing, most of the earth, a wasteland. People known as Cranks driven into a cannibalised insanity by an infectious disease known as the flare, as the roam the crumbling city hunting.Thomas and the Gladers face the trail set up by WICKED in crossing the scorching wasteland and reaching the safe zone. Will they make it or perish amongst the Cranks and the scorching climate?

Just as with The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trials is an insanely action-packed book. Picking up immediately after the dramatic events of the maze. The time that passes through the story is fairly quick but the plot is stretched out so it covers some extra time.
