In the book Summer of Secrets by Paul Langan, There has been a lot going on from a false pregnancy, to fighting, having nightmare asslt dreams, keeping secrets from family, and best friends, and being cheated on. Brisana and Darcy are alike because they both have their issues with boys. Both try to warn each other about boys, and how they are using them for only one thing. They are different because they both present themselves differently when they are with boys. In some ways Brisana and Darcy are alike, such as their troubles they have dealt with and been going through with over the summer. For example after the break-up with Hakeem Darcy basically rushed into another relationship with Brian, Brisana and Duane haven’t been together for very long and Duane was already talking about how he loves her. Little did Darcy and Brisana know that both of the boys only wanted one thing. While Brisana assumed that she was pregnant, she explained to Darcy that “it’s was like you were tried to tell me. When Darcy was with Hakeem she still respected herself enough not to change herself for him. When Brisana was with Duane she was changing how she dressed and acted for him. When Brisana appered at Darcy’s job she didnt even know it was her till she took her sunglasses off “Brisana” Darcy said “ trying to ignore the revealing clothes her old friend was wearing. (Langan 19) The importance to this quote is how Brisana has changed herself so much for Duane, that Darcy couldnt even reconize her. This explains how Darcy and Brisana are different when it comes to being in a relationship with a boy. Even though Brisana and Darcy are two dfferent people, they have their differences and similarities.
